Cycle To School Campaign

Do you want to show that cycling can be a great way to get to school?

Looking forward to Bike Week 2007? Brentford CLC, alongside Hounslow's Sustainable Transport Team, are looking for year 7 & 8 pupils willing to take part in an exciting new media project to promote cycling as a sustainable means of transport between home and school.

There are many issues associated with cycling on London's roads and we are looking for pupils to explore the problems and potential benefits of safety, fitness and the environment. Pupils' own experiences and the evidence gathered can then be presented, using cutting edge photographic, video and audio technology, through the creation of a series of podcasts. These podcasts will then be available for download over the weeks prior to, and during bike week on the 16th - 24th June 2007.

The project will contain the following outcomes:

1. To conduct directed research on the benefits of cycling as a means of transport.

2. To identify issues and address them by interviewing a panel of experts.

3. To use personal experiences as well as evidence gathered to create podcasts promoting cycling to school.

4. Present the podcasts in a format that can be accessed widely during national bike week.
