Training: Overview

CPD

Brentford CLC are always looking for ways to help improve teaching and learning within schools. Training is one of the ways we seek to achieve this. We have run a number of INSET/Training for a wide range of schools offering support in small groups to whole schools, through both outreach work in schools as well as CLC based sessions.

Recent sessions we have run include Interactive Whiteboard training (SMART/Promethean), digital video, animation, Maths in Motion, LEGO control technology as well as the use of Microsoft Office applications.

Apple Regional Training Centre (RTC)

Brentford CLC is an Apple Regional Training Centre. The Apple RTC programme helps teachers bring learning to life with digital technology and builds on the experience and achievements of many teachers already using Apple technology in the classroom. Whilst Apple Macs are used in the training, the principles can be applied to other hardware and software platforms.

Recent RTC events include using Garageband to inspire cross-curricular music creation, digital storytelling in the primary classroom using animation and Developing Thinking Skills through Digital Story Telling for Y2 teachers.
