Comic Genre – Creating Comics with ComicLife

This session will allow Students to construct a narrative (beginning, problem, solution, end) exploring different styles of language. Pupils will present their work in the form of a comic strip.  KS3

Dramatising Stories – Stop Frame Animation

Students will be supported in creating a 2D or 3D animation based on work prepared at school using Apple Mac computers and either characters created out of card or plasticine. KS3-4

Magazine Covers – Produce a cover for a Teen Magazine

Using Adobe Photoshop, Students will use pre-prepared images and content to build a magazine cover meeting the conventions of a Teen Magazine. KS4

Expressing Poetry – Compose or perform poetry and illustrate with images and sounds

Students will use the radio studio to perform and record poetry before adding sounds and images using Garageband. KS3-4

Journalistic Writing – News Room Simulation

Students will take part in a simulated newsroom exercise allowing them to practice skills such as analysing and selecting information, writing for a radio audience and live presentation amongst others. KS4

Digital Storytelling using ‘Green Screen’

Students will develop and film a narrative within the confines of the studio. However, use of ‘green screen’ technology means students will be able to replace the studio background with a range of moving and still images. KS3, 4-5
