Family Learning - 'Fun with Film at Kew'
Fun with Film at Kew' is a joint project being run by Brentford City Learning Centre and Isleworth Extended Schools. It is a three-day activity where families of pupils based in Isleworth Primary schools can work together to learn how to use digital cameras and video cameras to create films and photographs and explore what they have learnt together in the fabulous surroundings of Kew Garden.
The project will be based at Brentford City Learning Centre (which is on the site of Brentford School for Girls). There is no cost for attending this three day session. Light
refreshments will be provided although lunch will not.
The format for the three days will be:
Day 1 - 22nd October 10.00 - Brentford CLC
- Introduction to the three days - aims and outcomes
- Introduction to using digital cameras and video cameras
- Uploading photos and capturing video on to a computer
- Introduction to video editing
- Storyboarding ideas for the Day 2 visit to Kew Gardens - this could be factual or a story
Day 2 - 23rd October 10.00 - Kew Gardens - Exact arrangements to be confirmed
- Meet at Kew Gardens
- Families will explore Kew Gardens make their films and take their photographs
- Meet to discuss progress at end of day
Day 3 - 24th October 10.00 - Brentford CLC
- Capturing video footage and uploading images
- Further training on video editing
- Families to work on their films
- Showcase of all films at the end of the day
